AddressBrain is a UK address lookup and validation API. It is built and run by StoreFeeder Ltd, part of Royal Mail, and every lookup runs on Royal Mail's Postcode Address File (PAF), officially licensed.
StoreFeeder has built ecommerce software for UK retailers since 2012, from its base in Nottingham. Its multichannel platform manages orders, stock and despatch for online sellers, so we see the cost of a wrong address every day: failed deliveries, returned parcels and time spent fixing labels.
AddressBrain grew out of that. It fixes the address at the point it is captured, on a checkout, a sign-up form or a quote, so it is right before it reaches a warehouse, a courier or a CRM.
StoreFeeder is part of Royal Mail, which maintains the Postcode Address File that AddressBrain is built on.
Postcode lookup, address autocomplete and address validation for UK addresses, through one REST API with an OpenAPI spec and a single bearer token. Results come back as structured fields, with typical UK response times under 50ms.
New-build addresses and 1.4 million UK business names are included at no extra cost. Plans are monthly, from a free trial through to volume pricing and annual terms.
Questions about the API, pricing or a partnership? Contact the team through the contact page, or start a free trial: 30 lookups a day for 30 days, no card required.
